Facebook for BlackBerry version 1.6 has just officially been launched. Users can access it from their BlackBerry Browser or from the desktop at www.blackberry.com/facebook.

Enhanced features of Facebook version 1.6 include:


News feed support – users of the new application will see a Status and a Highlights feed on their home page where they can view the most recent activities of friends, such as status updates, photo uploads, photo tagging, wall posts, and more.

Wall Viewing – Facebook v 1.6 will allow you to view your friends’ wall and your own wall without going to the mobile site. Users can poke and message friends or post on their walls. You can also access your friends’ photo album and linked photos and use the application to call your friends or request their phone numbers

Photo Viewing – this new feature allows for superior photo viewing from albums or by simply clicking on a photo thumbnail anywhere in the Facebook application, and Enhanced language support – Facebook v 1.6 is now available for a greater number of users with support for Thai, Indonesian, and European Portuguese languages.
