Magsaysay Transport and Logistics moves to the Cloud with Salesforce CRM

Magsaysay Transport and Logistics Corporation (MTLC), a subsidiary of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, recently signed an agreement with IP Converge Data Center, Inc. (IP-Converge) for its subscription to Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management (CRM), world-leading cloud-based CRM solution for the “social enterprise”.

IP-Converge says today’s business operations require tools that allow employees to collaborate and share information in real time – similar to popular social networking websites and applications. Sony extends a helping hand to Sendong victims

To help in the rebuilding process in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City and the other provinces that were affected by Typhoon Sendong, Sony Philippines launches its Service Support Project which offers owners of Sony products special assistance to repair damaged items. The program covers all items bought from Sony Philippines which are confirmed to be damaged by the said typhoon.

Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development, DOH to hold country’s first leprosy stakeholders symposium

In the lead-up to World Leprosy Day on January 30, 2012, the Department of Health (DOH) in cooperation with the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development (NFSD) will hold the 1st Leprosy Stakeholders Symposium on January 25, 2012 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The groundbreaking symposium will gather all major stakeholders and partners from government and civil society organizations with the goal of eliminating leprosy in areas of the Philippines where the disease is still endemic.

“We are pleased to work with the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development in organizing this important symposium. Although the country has made significant progress in controlling leprosy, we want to further strengthen the national leprosy control program by consolidating the efforts of all concerned stakeholders,” said DOH Secretary Enrique T. Ona.

 

DBM joins the Cloud revolution, partners with IP-Converge for Google Apps

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM), a government agency responsible for the efficient and proper management of government funds, has recently partnered with IPConverge Data Center, Inc., the country’s first and only publicly listed Internet data center and cloud services provider, for Google Apps for Business — cloud-based email and office productivity tools from the global Internet search giant.

“Through our partnership with IP-Converge, we wish to join several businesses and government agencies in taking advantage of the Cloud Age to improve key areas in our operations, most especially document collaboration. The resulting efficiencies will translate to direct, immediate, and sustainable benefits for the Filipino public through well-delivered services,” DBM Undersecretary and Chief Information Officer Bon Moya said.

 

Maersk Line and Ericsson bring mobile connectivity to the oceans

The oceans are the last “white spot” for mobile communication industry to connect. The world’s largest shipping company, Maersk Line, has appointed Ericsson to address this by introducing end-to-end systems integration and deployment of mobile and satellite communication to its entire vessel fleet.

The Maersk Line fleet comprises more than 500 container vessels. Over the next two years, Maersk Line will outfit 400 of these vessels with Ericsson antennas and GSM base stations, with upgrades to be made to the remaining vessels soon after. As part of the agreement, Ericsson will provide seven years of global managed services support, including 24/7 network monitoring and onboard maintenance services in a large number of ports across all major regions.
