Sun Microsystems Appoints Gan Boon San as President of Asia South Region

Philippines, Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced the appointment of Gan Boon San as president of its Asia South GEM (Geographically Established Market). He replaces Lionel Lim, who has been promoted to the role of senior vice president, Asia Pacific region (APAC). In this role, Boon San will be responsible for strategizing and ensuring a consistent, integrated and responsive customer experience to deliver growth and profitability across Asia South.

Boon San was previously the chief of operations (COO) of Sun Asia South where he supported the Asia South president in strategies and execution plans across Asia South to drive and grow the business regionally.

Boon San was concurrently the managing director of Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Brunei and Bangladesh. His job encompassed growing Sun’s business throughout the region which included directing Sun’s joint ventures in the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as business operations in Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indo-China.
