D-Link International, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of network products, unveils the latest member of their wireless G Series – the D-Link Wireless G Access Point (DAP-1150). The versatile 3-in-1 DAP-1150 allows consumers to use the device in three different ways to extend their wireless coverage, enabling a wireless home network to cover all dead spots.
“With technology becoming increasingly integrated and productive, the DAP-1150 provides the convenience of three wireless functions in one package. These functions are housed within a stylish jet black D-Link casing and come with WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) to ensure the prioritizing of data packets, thus improve the qualities of VoIP and real time multimedia streaming,” said Mr Desmond Toh, Marketing Director of D-Link International Pte Ltd.
Flexibility and Adaptability
More than just an access point, the 802.11g DAP-1150 can be configured to operate as a central hub for wireless users, as an AP client to connect another access point, or as a repeater to extend the network’s wireless coverage to cover all dead spots. These can be done with just a slide of a button
Increased Security Features
Wi-Fi Protected SetupTM (WPS) certified, the DAP-1150 enables a secure wireless network to be easily configured. Providing 64/128-bit WEP encryption and WPA/WPA2 security to protect the network and wireless data, the DAP-1150 also features MAC address filtering and the Disable SSID Broadcast function to limit outside access to a user’s wireless network.
Easy to Install and Use
Easily configured to different applications by a switch located on the rear of the unit, the DAP-1150 allows various modes to be selected with a simple slide of the switch. Working hand in hand with the D-Link Setup Wizard, the DAP-1150 allows a wireless network to be set up simply in a number of minutes.
Pricing and Availability
The D-Link DAP-1150 wireless G Access Point will be available at authorized retailers, resellers and distribution partners in Sept 2008.
