In the first global election between earth and global warming, Canon Marketing Philippines votes earth. For one whole hour on March 28, Canon will turn off its billboards in the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and in Cebu, along with all lights in all its offices, branches, and service centers nationwide in support of Earth Hour 2009.
“Here at Canon, we take the environment seriously and participating in Earth Hour is just one of the ways we do this,” said Canon Marketing Philippines president Ramon Arteficio. “Climate change is a matter that we cannot afford to ignore and it will take all of our efforts to combat it.”
This is the second time that Canon joins Earth Hour. Last year, aside from switching off its billboard and office lights, the company gathered employee pledges to turn off their lights at home.
