HP Indigo Given First-ever GRACoL Certification

HP announces that its HP Indigo 5000, 5500 and 7000 digital press models have become the first digital color production systems to earn General Requirements for Applications in Commercial Offset Lithography (GRACoL) certification, a graphic arts standard for quality color printing.

The new GRACoL certification enables customers to economically produce certified proofs on their HP Indigo digital presses as well as use their presses for complete production runs. HP will offer a GRACoL implementation service – a two-day, on-site consultation to establish certified proof production on an HP Indigo press using CGS ORIS PearlDIGITAL 170 proofing paper, CGS ORIS PRESS MATCHER PRO color management software and the X-Rite iSis XL spectrophotometer.

NP bats for tough new law vs. video voyeurism

To suppress the proliferation of secretly produced sex videos, the Nacionalista Party (NP) led by Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. is pushing for the swift passage of new legislation that would define and penalize the crime of video voyeurism.

“A specific law against video voyeurism would be helpful in reinforcing existing privacy and anti-obscenity laws as well as special statutes protecting women and children from abuse and exploitation,” said NP spokesperson and former Cavite Rep. Gilbert Remulla.

“In some U.S. states, video voyeurism is already penalized. Canada classified video voyeurism as a sexual offense in 2005. In the United Kingdom, non-consensual voyeurism became a felony in 2004,” Remulla pointed out.

No kid-glove treatment for video voyeurs — solon

Video or photo voyeurs who violate the privacy of individuals, or abuse the trust of persons with whom they have a relationship, should be dealt with harshly by the law, Cotabato Rep. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said Sunday, amid the outrage over the Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili sex video scandal.

“They do not deserve the kid-glove treatment,” Taliño-Mendoza said, as she warned that unwanted video and photo voyeurism, if left unchecked, could potentially breed more sexual violence against women and children.

“Studies abroad have indicated that voyeurs who spend a great deal of resources in their activities, if allowed to get away with their offenses, are inclined to degenerate into violent sexual predators,” she pointed out.
