APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power, cooling and management services, today launched a campaign in the Philippines to help customers and to raise the awareness of the environment.
The campaign currently comprises two programs, namely, Trade-UPS Program and Green Disposal Days.
Dave Johnson, Senior Vice President for Home and Business Networks of APC said, “As a market leader in commercial UPS with more than a third of the ASEAN market share* and with a significant number of installed units in the Philippines, it is timely, to inform our customers & partners on the responsible disposal of UPS due to the recent calamities that hit major metropolitan areas and nearby Luzon provinces recently.”
APC has created the “APC Trade-UPS Program” whereby customers can trade-in their non-working UPS (APC and other brands) units for up to 15% discount. The program includes all entry-level (Back-UPS) to higher-end models (Smart-UPS including Symmetra).
Available nationwide, the program is made possible with the support of APC’s distributors: Innovista Philippines and MSI-ECS Philippines and their vast network of resellers and retail outlets located all over the country.
The APC Trade-UPS Program will start on October 19. Interested parties can email APCTradeUPS.PH@apcc.com or call the APC toll free number 1800-1651-0302.
In conjunction, APC also launched nationwide drive called ”APC UPS Green Disposal Days” scheduled on October 24-25, October 31-November 1 and November 7-8, 2009. On these three (3) consecutive weekends, customers can dispose of their damaged UPS caused by the recent floods, in exchange for up to 15% discount voucher at the following drop-off points:
– Silicon Valley: Robinson’s Ermita, SM Megamall, SM Manila, SM Marikina & SM Mall of Asia (MOA)
– PCWorx: Gilmore, SM Cubao, SM North Edsa & SM Mega Mall
– Thinking Tools: All branches in Cebu
Newly appointed APC country general manager Philippe Reveilhac expressed optimism that the campaign and its initial two programs will provide the much needed help to affected customers and partners. “The APC UPS Green Renewal Program is a project dear to us. Through the concerted efforts of APC and its resellers, we will be able to reach out to as many people as we can, to help them solve their power needs created by the recent calamities, while at the same time, be kind to the environment.
According to news reports, the devastation left behind by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng (international names: Ketsana and Parma, respectively), has affected over 4M Filipinos, including 800,000 families residing in metropolitan areas and provinces in the Philippines. One major concern is the improper disposal of UPS units.
