User advisory on Microsoft IE Zero-Day Vulnerability and Exploit

A proof-of-concept exploit was recently discovered that targets a zero-day vulnerability in Internet Explorer. Symantec Security Response has confirmed that the exploit affects both IE 6 and 7 on Windows XP and Vista platforms, but there are possibilities that other versions of IE and Windows may also be affected.

Samsung Sells 50 Millionth Full Touch Screen Mobile Phone

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, marked the sale of its 50 millionth full touch screen mobile phone globally this month, confirming its leadership in this fast-growing market segment.

Samsung has sold approximately 40 million full touch screen devices this year through the end of November, compared with around 10 million in 2008. The growth in sales shows the rapid adoption of full touch screen phones by mainstream consumers who enjoy the convenience of the intuitive user interface, powerful multimedia features and sleek designs.
