Globe brings the first public Webphone service to the Philippines

Globe Telecom introduces the country’s first public Webphone that enables consumers to call, surf, email and send videos. Globe deployed its first Web payphone at TriNoma in Quezon City as it is currently testing this service for the local market.

Called Globe E-Stop, the Webphone is a new innovation that puts together the payphone and internet service in a revolutionary touch screen device that is easy to use. Available this June, consumers and TriNoma mall goers have been trying out Globe E-Stop and it has received very encouraging response from the market.

Microsoft gets Filipinos online for free

HP Unveils a Simple Payment Plan for SMBs to Better Optimize Their Printing Environment and Manage Cash Flow

HP announced HP QuickPage™, a ground-breaking new service designed to help small and midsize businesses (SMBs) to better optimize their imaging and printing environment and control costs as part of HP’s channel-led Managed Print Services (MPS) offering for SMBs. Modelled after a telecommunications service agreement, HP QuickPage™ provides SMBs with one simple contract through which they gain greater control over costs and more choice in how they engage with HP to better manage their printing environment.

According to a recent study by IDC, the SMB segment represents a prime opportunity for Managed Print Services growth as 44 percent of all SMBs surveyed either currently have or are planning to implement an MPS solution within the next 1-2 years.(1) As such, HP is continuing to identify ways to leverage the enterprise-level expertise of its industry leading business partners to provide SMBs with HP-certified solutions.

Globe and Mobily launch 1st Kababayan SIM for OFWs in Saudi

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can expect to pay lower rates for calls and text messages to family and friends in the Philippines on the back of the recently-inked partnership between Globe Telecom and Saudi Arabia-based mobile operator Mobily. The latter is Saudi Arabia ’s second largest mobile operator with a market share of about 40%. It is the brand carried by Saudi elecom firm Etihad Etisalat.

Mobily partnered with Globe to launch the Mabuhay Kababayan Prepaid SIM, a new service that gives Mobily subscribers special rates for calls and text messages to the Philippines . With the Mobily Mabuhay Kababayan Prepaid SIM, calls to Globe, Tattoo and TM in the Philippines will be charged 99 halala (0.99 Saudi Riyal or about P12.01) per minute, and 30 halala (0.30 Saudi Riyal or about P3.66) per text message.
