Fujitsu Philippines welcomes 2011 with an ISO recertification

Fujitsu Philippines, Inc. (FPI), a leading IT systems integrator and IT services provider, today announced that it has retained its ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 20000-1:2005 certification following a stringent audit overseen by SGS, an internationally accredited certification body.

The scope of certification is: The provision of IT System Integration, IT Infrastructure Maintenance, Managed IT services and Network Solutions to contractual clients in accordance with Service Catalog version 3.00.

“I would like to congratulate everyone in FPI for this achievement. We are entering our fourth straight year as an ISO 9001 and ISO 20000 certified company. This audit result reflects FPI’s commitment to customer satisfaction through the consistent application of industry best practices by our frontline and back office staff at all levels of the organization,” said Peter G. Tan, FPI President and CEO.

ISO 20000-1:2005 is the international standard for Information Technology Service Management released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ISO 9001:2000 is the international standard for quality management systems released by the ISO. ISO/IEC 20000 promotes the adoption of an integrated process approach to effectively deliver managed services in meeting the business and customer requirements. ISO 9001 promotes the adoption of a process approach in the development, implementation and improvement of a quality management system. Both standards emphasize the achievement of customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements, and the continuous improvement of design, production, resource management and other business processes.

According to Quality Assurance Office Head, Ms. Ophie Indiongco, “The audit team concluded that ‘FPI has established and maintained its integrated quality and IT service management system in line with the requirements of the standard and demonstrated the ability of the system to systematically achieve the requirements for products or services within the scope and the organization’s policy and objectives.’ FPI is committed to achieve total customer satisfaction through QUALITSM, our quality and IT service management policy.”

In 2008, FPI was the first Philippine company to have its Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) System certified against the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 International Standard.
