Globe, BDO, and SM offer ‘super loaded meals’ deal

Globe Telecom strengthens its partnership with Banco De Oro Unibank, the Philippines’ largest bank in terms of assets, and SM Prime Holdings, the country’s largest mall operator, by launching a promotional offer for Globe or TM subscribers who top-up their prepaid load credits through a BDO Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

The Super Loaded Meals promo gives all BDO current, savings and cash card account holders free meals at any SM Food Court branch just by reloading their Globe or TM prepaid phones through any of BDO’s 1,430 ATMs nationwide.

Smart expands coverage of ‘HelLow’ IDD service

Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) announced the expansion of its ‘HelLow’ low-cost international direct dialing (IDD) service, to include four countries with the most number of Filipino contract workers.

HelLow is the country’s first reloadable IDD card which can be used on any Smart or Talk ‘N Text cellphone to make low-cost calls to top OFW destinations, via sachet-sized load denominations.

PH Team Places Second in Microsoft’s Imagine Cup 2011 Game Design Competition

Despite the number of teams who competed this year, Philippine team Signum Fidei emerged as winners, placing second in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2011 World Finals Game Design Web Subcategory with its entry titled Conjunct!, a puzzle game where the player is required to clear boards overlaid with photos of real-life problems around the world.

The Imagine Cup is the world’s premiere student technology competition, which gathers the best developers around the world and harnesses the creative minds of the youth to address problems faced by the world today using the power of information technology.

With the increasing growth of mobile data in the Philippines, Touch Mobile (TM), Globe Telecom’s fast growing prepaid brand, has launched its very own mobile internet service. TM subscribers can now enjoy surfing the internet using their mobile phones at a very affordable rate.

For only P5 valid for 15 minutes of use, subscribers can now use their TM-powered phones to post status updates, send an e-mail, do research, upload photos, play online games, and download mobile applications. This mobile browsing service is the lowest browsing denomination available for mobile internet users today.

Globe partners with CENX to expand Carrier Ethernet presence

Globe Telecom, one of the leading telecommunications providers in the Philippines, announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Carrier Ethernet Neutral Exchange (CENX), operator of the world’s first and most connected Carrier Ethernet exchange. Globe has recently completed Ethernet Service Member Testing with CENX for its E-Line, E-LAN and EVPL services, and is now ready to offer these with a wider international Ethernet footprint.

“By becoming a member of CENX, we will be able to enhance the reach of our Carrier Ethernet services for the benefit of our customers, especially the BPOs and multinational companies,” said Jesus C. Romero, Head of Globe Business. Apart from having the most number of active Carrier Ethernet Exchanges, CENX will provide Globe with access to more than 15 million Ethernet Service Locations worldwide.

NorthgateArinso appoints new Country Manager for the Philippines

NorthgateArinso (NGA), the global provider of HR systems and services, has appointed Hans Montenegro to the position of Country Manager for the Philippines. Montenegro will spearhead the company’s growth in the region and have responsibility for all aspects of the company’s Philippine operations.
