Business Executives tackle solutions to challenges at the World Tour 2011 in Manila

SAP customers, partners and executives come together at the regional SAP World Tour 2011 in Manila to share with and hear from peers how software from SAP is helping companies run better. In addition to networking with industry and regional peers and partners, participants were expected to leave the event with the distinct understanding of the product strategy aimed at enabling SAP customers to build a competitive advantage by collaborating, deciding, adapting and operating better.

This year, the SAP World Tour took place in more than 50 cities in over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. The global road show has reached more than 240,000 customers, partners and influencers over the last seven years, and was designed to enable dialog with influencers, customers and prospects, along with members of the SAP ecosystem and parties interested in partnering with SAP. SAP World Tour Philippines was the 4th stop in Southeast Asia, after equally successful World Tours in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The one-day event featured a keynote address by Tim Moylan, SAP President SEA. Moylan talked about how SAP can help firms gain a competitive edge in this rapidly globalizing world amidst uncertain economic conditions. “Our time is now. The market is at the cusp of change and transformation is the name of the game. Mobility, analytics and cloud are more than just buzzwords but starting a real revolution in information technology.”

Other notable talks were about the growing importance of in-memory computing and how mobility is changing the way companies react to a fast-changing global business environment by Simon Dale, Head of Technology and Innovation, SAP Asia Pacific-Japan and Kip Cole, Vice President for Operations and Mobility Solutions, SAP Asia Pacific-Japan, respectively.

Participants also had the opportunity to choose from a number of different breakout sessions to further engage in conversations about strategies to help companies triumph over competition. SAP is pleased to partner Dell, HP, IBM and Riverbed.

Jennie Ligones, SAP Philippines Country Manager highlighted the role of technology in businesses, “Key to continued competitiveness is to empower companies with innovations that are relevant to the times and needs of business, such as cloud computing and mobility, so that they can continue to evolve in accordance with today’s economic challenges. SAP World Tour aims at helping firms understand the solutions on offer, and implement the most appropriate and beneficial solution in accordance to a firm’s size and industry.”

The SAP World Tour offered customers and partners throughout the world a local event to help firms run better. SAP understands pertinent domestic market challenges and is well-poised to offer the right solutions to firms and industries of all types and sizes.
