Three hundred Canon EOS camera users were treated to free specialized photography workshops by imaging leader Canon and some of the country’s top photographers during the first PhotoSkwela Pro at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City.
“This event is an advanced version of PhotoSkwela designed to further improve the skills of our loyal Canon EOS users,” said Bong Serevo, Vice-President and Director of the Image Communications Products division of Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. (CMPI). PhotoSkwela is a series of free workshops on basic and advanced photography, videography and scrapbook making.
PhotoSkwela Pro workshops included lectures on sports, food, travel, landscape, bird, wedding photography, portraiture, photojournalism and the business side of photography.
Various sessions were conducted by Canon brand ambassadors. Among them were veteran advertising photographer John Chua with wife Harvey, photojournalists Ernie Sarmiento and Val Rodriguez, landscape photographers Jay Jallorina and Edwin Martinez, wedding photographers Dino Lara and Pilar Tuason, travel photographer Per Andre Hoffman, food photographer Mark Floro, bird photographer Ely Teehankee and photography lecturer Jo Avila.
The workshop incorporated activities where participants applied what they learned such as table tennis players from the national team for sports photography and stunning models for practicing portraiture. Canon also launched its new series of projectors during the event, the LV 7290, LV 7295, LV 7390, and LV 8320.
