More than 2,000 professional and amateur photographers are expected to join the fifth and final leg of Canon’s sixth annual PhotoMarathon when it kicks off at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Sen. Gen. Gil Puyat Ave. cor. Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Canon’s PhotoMarathon is a day-long series of on-the-spot photo contests that challenges Canon camera users to take pictures based on given themes within a time limit. It is open to all Canon camera users free of charge.
Winners of the Cagayan de Oro, Bohol, Vigan and Bicol marathons, held early this year, will arrive in Manila to represent their cities in the final leg of the contest.
“We are very happy with the outcome of the past legs,” beams Canon Vice-President and Imaging Communications Products division head Bong Serevo, “as one of the major projects of our ImageNation campaign, we hope that this encourages talented Filipinos to recognize the beauty that is our country.”
Canon EOS brand ambassadors who are among the country’s top photographers will judge the entries. Canon DSLRs and point-and-shoot cameras will be awarded to the winners.
