D-Link launches DWR-112 wireless router featuring cutting edge 3.5G technology

11 Jan

D-Link, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of network products, today launched the D-Link DWR-112 3.5G wireless mobile router, which is designed to be compatible with Wireless 300N technology, with a high-speed capability of up to 300Mbps. With the ability to access conventional and mobile broadband services worldwide, the DWR-112 can be installed quickly and easily anywhere, and is ideal for situations where an impromptu wireless network is needed or wherever conventional 802.11 network access is unavailable.

Maximum portability worldwide
Equipped with four 10/100 Mbps LAN ports and two USB ports, the DWR-112 allows users to easily access a wide range of broadband services worldwide by inserting a compatible 3G or 3.5G USB adapter for instant Internet connection through a secure, high-speed wireless intranet.

Featuring twin transceiver sets (802.11n 2×2 MIMO), the DWR-112 can establish a high bandwidth Wi-Fi intranet with network speeds of up to 300Mbps, allowing users to connect several wireless devices like PCs and smartphones to the wireless internet, and sharing any subscribed-to WAN connection with friends and colleagues. With two USB ports, this router also offers the option of plugging in a USB flash drive or other USB devices, like a printer, through the proprietary D-Link Shareport technology.

WAN failover for uninterrupted connection
The DWR-112 is designed not only to support 3G mobile broadband; one of the LAN ports can be configured as a WAN port to connect to a DSL/Cable modem as the primary or backup WAN link. This WAN failover support ensures uninterrupted connection, by connecting users to a 3.5G network automatically whenever a WAN connection is lost or dropped, or vice versa.

Advanced security offers peace of mind
The DWR-112 features advanced network security with support for WPA/WPA2 encryption to keep the wireless network safe. It also utilises dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT) to prevent potential attacks and intrusions across the Internet. Using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button, users can quickly set up a secure connection to new devices.
