Canon Marketing (Phils.), Inc. won two Anvil Awards for its programs, Canon GreenNation and Canon PhotoMarathon last February 24, 2012 at the Anvil Awards night held at Edsa Shangri-la Hotel.
Entered under the category of Public Relations Programs for Environment, Science & Technology, Sustainable Development, the Canon GreenNation Program received the Anvil Award of Merit for successfully expanding from a collection program for Canon ink cartridges and toners to a complete ecological program, partnering with other organizations and supporting various conservation initiatives. Among the number of these successful efforts is the Sagip Agila project in partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation and Environmental Education program with the Miss Earth Foundation.
The Canon PhotoMarathon was awarded the Anvil Award of Merit under the category PR Program – Specific Stakeholder (Customers) for uniting budding and professional photographers alike to showcase their talent through a friendly competition. The Canon PhotoMarathon is annually initiated by Canon Marketing (Phils.), Inc. to continuously delight Filipino photographers and has grown steadily over the years from 200 participants to a staggering 2,000 in 2011. Canon’s series of on-the-spot photo contests has gained a fan base all on its own, thanks to the challenge’s uniqueness and heartfelt atmosphere of camaraderie.
Dubbed as the Oscars of Public Relations in the Philippines, The Anvil is given annually by the Public Relations Society of The Philippines (PSRP) to outstanding public relations programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values, and genuine service to the community and society.
