SkyCable’s best-value price plans key to increasing PH’s cable take-up

The country’s cable penetration rate or ratio of cable subscription to the country’s population is very low by international standards. Compare 15 percent versus neighboring countries Korea and Taiwan’s 80 percent and 90 percent, respectively.

Sky Cable, the country’s number one cable TV service provider, continues to further bring up the Filipinos’ take-up of cable service through its best value pricing plans. From introducing the first ever-prepaid cable TV service in the country in 2006, SkyCable Silver Prepaid, the company has expanded to include more affordable postpaid plans that have the most number of digital and HD channels versus any competitor. This is all made possible by digital cable technology, which SkyCable also pioneered in the country.

Its lowest-priced postpaid plan – SkyCable 280 – remains the country’s most affordable Pay-TV package, relative to its number of digital channels. For only 280 pesos per month, SkyCable 280 airs 38 digital pay-TV channels and 18 free-tv channels, That’s a total of 56 channels versus its closest competitor’s 13 channels.

Said SkyCable Managing Head Ray Montinola, “We have been a pioneer of providing cable services in the country in many aspects. We intend to continue to elevate Filipino families’ viewing experience with additional digital cable channels and flexible price plans.”

”Our vision is to make cable and digital viewing as the norm, more than the exception,” he adds.

True for both postpaid or prepaid, SkyCable boasts of having the widest and most varied array of TV content options being offered by any cable provider in the market today. SKYCable also gives subscribers the power to choose among the various packages and additional digital and HD channels they want based on one’s channel preference and budget, that is, without any hidden charges.

SkyCable’s “Beyond Clear Signal” campaign further highlights its digital features like most number of channels, multiple price tiers, ala-carte channel subscription, and HD, among others.

Said Montinola, “What we give our subscribers is the real digital cable tv viewing experience – exceptional clarity in images and audio with no signal disruptions and no hidden charges. This is our contribution to accelerating the Filipinos’ shift to a way of life that is at par with the rest of the progressive world.”
