BPAP congratulates Japan’s NTT Group and DTSI Group

Catholic International Education Office chooses office 365 for more than 43 million students globally

The Catholic International Education Office (OIEC) recently entered into an education alliance with Microsoft Corp. to provide Office 365 for its community of Catholic schools across the world as part of a new Social Network for Catholic Education. This will begin with provision of software for 4.5 million students as part of a 3 year alliance plan but in time has the potential to scale across OIEC’s community of more than 43 million Catholic students, at 210,000 schools, in 102 countries. The new network will provide innovative software and services, training and access, to technologies that will better prepare students for the jobs of the future.

OIEC’s mission includes the promotion of education for all, collaboration within academic communities, and the fight against illiteracy worldwide. In an ever-evolving technology landscape, educators in the 21st century face continuing challenges to build skills among teachers, and provide students with the tools and knowledge they need to be successful. Netsuite announces commerce as a service

NetSuite Inc., the industry’s leading vendor of cloud-based business management software suites, announced NetSuite “Commerce as a Service” (CaaS), enabling businesses to manage their interactions with other businesses and directly with consumers via a cloud platform that delivers the customer experience, via any current or future device, directly on the core NetSuite cloud ERP/CRMbusiness management application. At the heart of the CaaS initiative is NetSuite SuiteCommerce, a new commerce-aware platform that provides a central system to manage all transactions and associated customer interactions with consumers and other businesses regardless of touchpoint (website, smart phone, social media site, in-store, etc.).

Companies collaborate on the Philippines’ First Solar-Powered Tunnel

Schneider Electric (SE), the global specialist in energy management, announced that one of its key products, the Xantrex XW hybrid inverter, is utilized by the city of Mandaluyong for its Boni Tunnel Solar Lighting System project. The Xantrex inverter will provide both back-up and full-time power to the 280-meter Boni-Mandaluyong City Tunnel, the country’s first solar-powered tunnel. The tunnel’s lighting system can help save the Mandaluyong City government around P240,000 on their annual electricity expenses.

According to Engr. Silver Navarro, a Solar Energy Generation Specialist and a consultant to the Asian Development Bank for the project, “We selected Schneider Electric’s Xantrex XW inverter because it has the features needed for the application that is not available in any other inverters of its class.” Read the rest of this entry »
