Microsoft Philippines Creates Synergies to Aid Micro Financing and Community Projects

02 May

The National Confederation of Cooperatives (Natcco) recently forged a partnership with Microsoft Value Added Reseller Ng-Khai Development Corporation in an effort to provide its members access to reliable and certified technology.

Natcco is the biggest and strongest federation of cooperatives in the Philippines, in terms of geographical reach, membership, financial capacity and array of services.  Now with 1.9 million individual members and 500 member cooperatives, Nattco recognizes the need to use IT solutions to support its activities and programs that promote livelihood and other business solutions among member-cooperatives.  Nattco President Rey Gandionco shared the rationale behind the partnership.  “As we have continuously searched for IT solutions that will fuel the livelihood programs and other business solutions, we saw that Microsoft gave us a good deal, an opportunity to make our system and services reliable for every cooperative member,” said Gandionco.

Under the Microsoft Reseller and Business Partnership Program, Ng Khai offers valuable price advantages for the technological growth of each individual Natcco cooperative. Together, Natcco and Ng Khai promote the acquisition of genuine Microsoft software to the members of the association within a volume licensing program. “As we always tailor fit our products and services to the needs of our partners and customers, we are helping communities build on success through reliable and affordable technologies. With Microsoft Volume License, customers can avail of the bundling of IT solution, VL discount, co-marketing, training, revenue sharing, public relations and local CSR,” shared John Bessey, Managing Director for Microsoft Philippines.

“We value our credibility as an organization and care for the overall well-being of our individual members. That is why we are pushing the Microsoft Volume License to our members, as it gives a significant opportunity for cost-savings in their IT development without them having to resort to the use of non-genuine software,” added Gandionco.

Natcco sees Microsoft as a good solutions provider as evident in the successful and bankable services Natcco has provided its members with the support of Microsoft technologies. The eKoopBanker Plus, running on Microsoft’s Windows Server and SQL Server 2008 R2, is a pioneering accounting and automated teller machine (ATM) system for cooperatives. The service is an improvement of eKoopBanker, which was an in-house application acquired by Natcco in 2006.

The eKoopBanker Plus provides member depositors with basic ATM services such as
withdrawals, deposits, transfers and e-loading for their cellphones, which will be debited from their accounts. The system also provides real-time interconnectivity for cooperatives with multi-branch operations, and inter-cooperative transactions within the Natcco network. It will also provide real-time financial reports, a value-added service for co-op leaders.

“We are very happy to be part of partnerships that foster development and community growth,” stressed Bessey. “And we are very positive about the increasing recognition of the need for IT solutions in the rendering of efficient services or organizations, as well of the value of genuine software,” concluded Bessey.

Ng Khai Development Corporation is a one-stop shop for complete integrated IT business solutions. Since it started operations in 1993, Ng Khai has continually developed and expanded to meet the advances of Information Technology and be able to provide quality service. Ng Khai currently is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and the only Microsoft Managed Partner and Large Account Reseller for Visayas and Mindanao.
