Canon is #1 Camcorder Brand for 2011

Imaging solutions leader Canon emerges as the number one camcorder brand in the Philippines for 2011.

In a retail audit by international and independent market research firm GfK Research and Technology, the report showed that Canon dominated the camcorder market with a market share of 47.8 percent. The top camcorder models for Canon were the standard definition (SD) VIXIA FS400 and the high definition (HD) VIXIA HF R20.

Three other Canon camcorder models made it to the top 20 hit list for December 2011: the FS300 and VIXIA HF M40 flash camcorders and the PhotoDV DC420 DVD camcorder.

The VIXIA FS400 allows up to 41 times more zoom than the standard perspective and features a Dynamic mode Image Stabilizer—a deal at only Php12,950. Meanwhile, the VIXIA HF R20 is the entry level model for Canon’s full HD camcorders. It features a touch-screen interface as well as the Face Detection and Smart Auto functions for maximum clarity video capture, definitely an unbeatable package at Php19,950.

Since 2007, Canon has been the number one digital camera brand in the country owing to its strong international brand lineage and solid product portfolio. The company is also noted for its comprehensive after-sales support which is nearly incomparable to industry newcomers. This latest certification from GfK marks another milestone for Canon as the leading camcorder brand.

WiFi-Capable Canon Camcorders
