ThinkPad: An Icon in the PC Industry

Wee Liam So, Technical Manager, Think Business Unit for ASEAN, Lenovo, shows off the innovative design and features of the ThinkPad with a stripped down ThinkPad W520.

With the ThinkPad reaching its 20th year in the personal computing, Lenovo recently held a “Teardown the ThinkPad” session at Chocolate Fire, Makati City in celebration of the ThinkPad’s two decades of innovation and leadership.

Wee Liam So, Lenovo’s technical manager, Think Business Unit for ASEAN demonstrated why Lenovo’s ThinkPad has become such a well recognized icon in the personal computing (PC) industry by disassembling a ThinkPad W520 to show its high build quality.

Lenovo owns one of the greatest track records for innovation in the PC and consumer electronics world. Lenovo now has 6,500 globally recognized patents, nearly 5,000 of which are patents for invention. The ThinkPad brand has recorded many groundbreaking firsts – from the first spill-resistant keyboard and protective roll cage to industry leading thin and light designs without compromising performance.
