D-Link International Pte Ltd, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products today introduced the DCS-6510 and DCS-6511, Day and Night Vandal-Proof Fixed Dome Network Cameras. Ideal for small-to-medium business application and remote monitoring over the internet, both cameras provide the capability to deliver images under any lighting conditions, including complete darkness.

Packed in robust vandal-proof outdoor housing, the two surveillance cameras support 3GPP Mobile Surveillance that allow users to view a live video feed from a 3GPP compatible Internet-ready mobile device. Besides monitoring, users will also be able to fine-tune their security system over a local network or manage a directory of recorded video files on a network attached storage (NAS) device or SD card.

“D-Link’s DCS-6510 and DCS-6511 are both vandal-proof and versatile, with a huge range of camera features and remote management capabilities to ensure that users receive high quality, high definition video (DCS-6511) around the clock,” said Mr Desmond Toh, Marketing Director, D-Link International Pte Ltd. “This makes it a great fit for professionally-installed surveillance and security applications in homes and small-to-medium businesses.”

The DCS-6511 supports HD function that delivers superior image quality with a range of features to ensure that captured video is clear and sharp at all times of the day or night. The Wide Dynamic Range technology neutralizes imperfect lighting, providing clear images with the right amount of contrast even when a subject is backlit. A motorized varifocal autofocus lens allows focus and zoom to be quickly adjusted via the online user interface or remote management software. In addition, the Electronic Pan/Tilt/Zoom (ePTZ) feature allows users to select a target region for close-up viewing simply by clicking on the video feed displayed within their browser. ePTZ makes use of the camera’s megapixel resolution to survey a large area effortlessly. Since ePTZ requires no moving parts, there is no need to worry about the mechanical lifecycle of the camera.

Both DCS-6510 and DCS-6511 come with a superior CMOS sensor with low lux sensitivity, IR Cut Filter and a built-in IR LED to support dark environments with zero lux minimum illumination. To maximize bandwidth efficiency and improve image quality, the cameras provide real-time video compression using the MJPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs with multiple profiles support for simultaneous video streaming.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity allows for discreet installation in virtually any indoor location. The cameras’ built-in 802.3af compliant PoE module eases the installation process by reducing the need to drill holes or lay additional cabling. In addition, the 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port seamlessly connects to local network or to the Internet via a gateway router. D-Link’s included D-ViewCamTM software can be used to manage and monitor up to 32 network cameras, send email alert notifications, set recording schedules and perform motion detection control.
