Team Eves from our very own University of the Philippines capped this year’s international L’Oreal Brandstorm held in Paris last June. The team tied up with University of Chile’s Team Brand Up, beating the other teams representing 43 different countries.
Composed of Business Economics majors Stephanie Gabaldon, Regina Dimayuga and Ivania Sy, Team Eves won with their conceptualization of Bath Buddies, a product range of gentle skin care products for children ages 3 to 8 years old that makes use of natural ingredients.
Brandstorm has been around since 1993 running for six months from start to finish. This year’s contest put the spotlight on The Body Shop. True to The Body Shop’s values, each product from Team Eves’ Bath Buddies, features community fair trade materials such as orange blossoms sourced from Morocco. Endangered animals will also be featured in each of the products to attract the kids attention and to educate them on the importance of protecting our planet.
The product range includes Spotless Cheetah moldable soap which kids can mold and mush, sculpt and squeeze! Adding to the fun are the other 4 products: Washing’ Whale Shampoo, Beary Bubbly Bubble Bath, Slippery Seal Body Lotion and Powdered Panda Body Powder.
L’Oreal and Body Shop executives gave professional guidance to each local group through the competition.
Team Eves took home with a trip to a city of their choice, a prize amounting to 10,000 Euros. The People’s Choice Award, a new prize given to the team with the most Facebook “likes” was also awarded to Team Eves who garnered almost 13,000 “Likes” in only 2 weeks.
