JG Summit Holdings, Inc., a leading Philippine conglomerate, recently signed an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft Philippines, the local subsidiary of the world’s leading software manufacturer, to enhance its IT infrastructure and power the business processes of one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines.
JG Summit Holdings had initially partnered with Microsoft Philippines in the past via its individual core businesses. In April of last year, Cebu Pacific Air entered into an enterprise agreement with Microsoft to implement a host of Microsoft solutions meant to enhance its IT infrastructure. Prior to that, Universal Robina also entered into a similar partnership with Microsoft.
The recent deal represents the elevation of this successful partnership to a higher and broader conglomerate level. “Our aim is to make life better for the Filipinos. Having partnered with Microsoft, we learned that our common goals will help us enhance our services to our customers across our diverse industries,” said Lance Gokongwei, President and Chief Operating Officer of JG Summit Holdings.
John Bessey, Managing Director for Microsoft Philippines, expressed the same enthusiasm with the direction the two companies are taking. “We are happy to be furthering our partnership and to be moving forward with JG Summit. We are fully committed to supporting its businesses with the right tools and the know-how for the company to remain at the forefront of the country’s rise to development and to ultimately provide the best service to its customers,” Bessey enthused.
With business interests in air transportation, banking, food manufacturing, hotels, petrochemicals, power generation, publishing, real estate and property development, as well as an impending expansion within the year, JG Summit Holdings recognized the need for a collaborative platform environment to support its continued growth and effectively manage the connections within and outside the organization.
To accomplish this, JG Summit enlisted Microsoft reseller and systems integrator Nexus Technologies, to deploy the new platform. Nexus brings to the partnership its knowledge and specialization in Collaboration and Unified Communications.
Microsoft offers JG Summit the comprehensive tools it needs for driving innovation through Microsoft Sharepoint, a versatile collaboration solution. Sharepoint allows employees to connect across boundaries via a single, integrated space for accessing content management tools, blogs and workflows, making it easier to find and share information. With Sharepoint, such tools and resources are made available through a single platform, resulting in improved quality and efficiency of processes, and greater scalability of collaboration efforts.
“We are very passionate about providing our partners with solutions that offer genuine business advantage. We were with Microsoft back when it was a new player in the server market, and we have always believed in its products and services,” said Juan Chua, President of Nexus Technologies, Inc.
Nexus Technologies, Inc. is a company which aims to deliver real business benefits to its clients through leading technologies. It is the systems integrator and corporate IT reseller of choice of some of the Philippines’ top corporations. Nexus is a Microsoft Gold-Certified Partner, and is the first among Microsoft’s Large Account Resellers (LAR) in the Philippines.
