Top hacks for web and mobile apps pioneer Chikka came in full force for the very first Python Conference (PyCon) Philippines held recently at the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
PyCon gathered the developer community to discuss how to best utilize Python, the powerful programming language used in a wide variety of application domains, useful for web development, database access, scientific and numeric computing, network programming, and software development.
At the Accenture Ideas Exchange room of UP’s College of Computer Science, participants including Python developers, authors and contributors to open-source Python libraries and tools, college students and practicing programmers of other languages interested in trying out Python, gathered for the two-day event.
“As a leader in app development in the country, Chikka helps bring conventions, such as PyCon, that focus on what is state-of-the-art. Platforms like this encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences and propel our developers into even more innovative pursuits,” expressed Chikka chief operation officer Sammy Peralta.
Speakers at the Pycon Philippines included local and international Python experts like Daniel Greenfeld of cartwheelweb.com from Los Angeles, Fil-Am MIT graduate Audrey M. Roy, Australian Django expert and Python programmer Malcom Tredinnick, and another Bryan Veloso of Github.
The Python Convention, organized by different Python communities all over the world, made it latest stop in the Philippines after being held in other software development hubs such as the US, Australia, China, Germany, and India.
