D-Link introduces first Wireless Cloud Camera incorporating a Fisheye Lens for 360° Monitoring

10 Aug

D-Link International Pte Ltd, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products announced the launch of two new mydlink-enabled ip cameras – the DCS-6010L & DCS-7010L. Ideal for homeowners and businesses which require surveying a large area, but would prefer not to operate multiple cameras, the Fisheye IP Camera (DCS-6010L) is a mydlink-enabled IP surveillance system with unconventional fisheye lens and integrated image-processor that provides users with a full 360° view when mounted on a ceiling, floor, or table. Since there are no motoring parts like traditional PTZ models, users can survey an entire room silently and discreetly, with no blind spots or distortion. Equipped with a durable, rugged housing (IP-66 Weatherproof), Megapixel image sensor and a powerful IP LED illuminator, the DCS-7010L is an ideal solution for all-day outdoor surveillance.

Mr Christopher Neo, Sales Director said D-Link International Pte Ltd said, “There is a growing need for increased flexibility with surveillance and D-Link is committed to provide cutting-edge tools that can be easily integrated and managed. D-Link has expanded the breadth of its IP surveillance solutions with cloud-enabled and high-performance cameras which feature high-resolution sensors for excellent detail, infrared illumination technology for night viewing, and weatherproof housing for outdoor installations.”

All mydlink-enabled cameras come integrate with the mydlink platform for remote viewing and management from a PC or mobile device like an iOS/Android™ tablet or phone. Installation and setup is easy thanks to the Zero Configuration feature of D-Link Cloud Routers. Cameras connected to a D-Link Cloud Router, wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable, will automatically register themselves with the customer’s mydlink account for immediate use. No additional setup is necessary, so even users with limited technical knowledge will find installation straightforward.

Unlike traditional surveillance cameras, mydlink-enabled Cloud Cameras are highly adaptable IP cameras that allow users to remotely access their camera’s video from any Internet-connected PC or mobile device. Cameras can easily be set up by users with no technical knowledge. Each Cloud Camera is a self-contained system with a built-in CPU and web server, allowing it to monitor an area without requiring a PC. Live and recorded camera video can then be viewed through the mydlink website or through the mobile app for iOS/Android devices.

DCS-6010L – mydlink-enabled Wireless N Fisheye IP Camera
Versatile enough to be installed on nearly any flat surface, the DCS-6010L offers various display layouts including original, surround, panoramic, and regional views. No matter where the camera is placed, its lens allows it to capture a greater field of vision than other cameras, essentially delivering capabilities similar to that of a mechanical PTZ camera, from a stationary device. Using cutting-edge image processing, hemispherical images captured from the fisheye camera are converted into conventional rectilinear projections for viewing and analysis. Users will not experience the “fisheye effect” when viewing the camera; images will appear just as clearly they would for a traditional lens camera. Within the panoramic and regional viewing modes, users can utilize the ultra-smooth ePTZ function to easily zoom in and focus on a region of interest (ROI). The camera’s high resolution progressive scan CMOS sensor captures an entire room in its field of vision and provides noticeably higher quality than a typical analog CCTV camera.

Key Features:

  • Cloud Camera: Integrates with mydlink platform and supports Zero-Configuration
  • Fixed fisheye lens
  • Built-in microphone and speaker for 2-way communication
  • ONVIF compliant
  • High resolution (1600 x 1200)
  • H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression
  • ePTZ viewing
  • Built-in Samba client for recording to a NAS
  • 802.11n wireless connectivity
  • 10/100 Fast Ethernet port
  • Micro SD/SDHC Card slot for on-board storage

DCS-7010L – mydlink-enabled HD Mini Bullet Outdoor IP Camera (PoE)
Specially built for outdoor use, the DCS-7010L has a rugged metal IP-66 weatherproof housing that protects it from dirt and rain. Its Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability simplifies deployment and does away with the need for a nearby power outlet. The camera’s powerful IR illuminators and Infrared Cut (ICR) Filter provides visibility of up to 10 meters even in complete darkness. Its megapixel image sensor gives you high quality snapshots and video with resolutions up to 720p HD.

Key Features:

  • Cloud Camera: Integrates with mydlink platform and supports Zero-Configuration
  • IP-66 weatherproof housing
  • Audio in/out jacks to connect to microphone and speaker for 2-way communication
  • Built-in IR LED illuminator (10m) and infrared-cut removable (ICR) filter for day/night surveillance
  • ONVIF compliant
  • HD resolution (1280 x 720) and up to 1M (1280 x 800)
  • Support H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression
  • ePTZ viewing
  • Built-in Samba client for recording to a NAS
  • 10/100 Fast Ethernet port with PoE for easy installation
  • Micro SD/SDHC Card slot for on-board storage
