Yahoo! and Mediacom announced the launch of Style Factor, a custom branded content and entertainment site, for Proctor & Gamble (P&G) Philippines. Inspired by The Thread on Yahoo! Shine, developed for P&G in the USA, Style Factor will bring the latest celebrity news and information on fashion, skincare, hair care and makeup to users.

The custom branded content and entertainment site is available on Yahoo! Philippines’ leading entertainment site, OMG!, and showcases P&G’s most popular brands in the country including Pantene, Olay, Downy, Ariel and Head & Shoulders.

BlackBerry JamHack 2012 launches across Asia Pacific

Research In Motion (RIM) announced its first simultaneous Asia Pacific (APAC) wide Hackathon – BlackBerry JamHack.

BlackBerry JamHack is scheduled to take place in ten different cities across APAC over two consecutive weekends. Winning teams from each city will then have the opportunity to represent their country at the JamHack finals that will take place at BlackBerry Jam Asia on 29th-30th November 2012.

EMC Appoints John Roese as Chief Technology Officer

HP introduces ProLiant Gen8 Servers that enhance Virtualized Performance, facilitate move to Cloud

HP recently unveiled two new HP ProLiant Generation 8 (Gen8) four-socket servers that facilitate customers’ move to cloud while delivering increased compute power in less space and a return on investment within three months.

The industry’s first four-socket servers to incorporate HP ProActive Insight Architecture, the HP ProLiant BL660c and DL560 Gen8 servers significantly reduce the time spent on maintenance tasks through high levels of automation and continuous monitoring of system health, saving IT staff more than 30 days of administration time a year.

Canon breaks own record, wins four EISA awards

This year, Canon triumphs in the international digital imaging scene with a win of four prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) product awards. This is the highest number of EISA awards that Canon received in a single year, setting yet another milestone for the brand and upholding its status as digital imaging leader worldwide. The winning products covered Canon’s extensive collection: a DSLR, a compact digital camera, a video camcorder, and a professional inkjet printer.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is recognized as an extremely versatile and easy-to-use DSLR camera, earning the title “European Advanced SLR Camera 2012-2013”. The EISA jury members praised its 22.0-million-pixel CMOS sensor that consistently produces professional-quality output under both normal- and low-light conditions. The camera also features a continuous shooting speed of six frames-per-second (fps) and a body design that effectively improves resistance.
