Raymund Liboro of DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute.

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has turned over 500 subscriber identity module (SIM) cards to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for distribution to its key contacts, including local government units, media partners and other stakeholders.

Once these SIM cards are distributed, DOST will then enrol the numbers to the DOST Infoboard service so that these contacts can also receive weather-related warnings, advisories and alerts.

The DOST Infoboard, which is powered by Smart, is a web-based text broadcast facility that helps manage dissemination and gathering of weather- and disaster-related reports within the DOST community.
