Smart LTE now in UP Diliman

14 Feb

Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has introduced the world’s fastest wireless broadband technology to the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City as it fires up its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network for the annual UP Fair.

“The UP Fair is the perfect venue to make available to the students of the country’s premiere state university the power of Smart LTE,” said Smart Broadband Internet and Data Services Head Lloyd Manaloto.“With Smart LTE, this year’s festivities could very well be the most tweeted and most shared in history because LTE will enable fair-goers to instantly post their updates online,” Manaloto said.

Smart LTE can be experienced at the UP fairgrounds until February 16, 2013. Existing subscribers of Smart LTE USB Dongles, Smart LTE Pocket WiFi devices, and Smart LTE Postpaid Plans with LTE-enabled devices such as the Smart iPhone 5 and the Sony Xperia Neo V will be able to enjoy download speeds of up to 42Mbps. LTE demo booths are also present at the venue.

Smart also provided free WiFi for the UP Fair which can be accessed through the use of any WiFi-enabled devices such as tablets, laptops, or smartphones.

“We are more than happy to have been given the chance to make this annual event more special,” said Manaloto. “We are looking to make our LTE service available in similar events nationwide,” he added.

Smart LTE’s blazing fast download speeds is made possible by the Philippines’ first and only 100% supercharged mobile network.

With more than 54,000kms of fiber optic cabling, Smart, together with parent company PLDT, has over four times more fiber power compared to any of its competitors.

“Fiber Optic Cables make light speed communications possible and we have equipped all of our Metro Manila cell sites with this future-proof technology,” Manaloto said. “Experience what it’s like to truly Live Faster and to Live More!” he ended.
