The PLDT Group and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have been tapped by the Cebu Citizens-Press Council to provide connectivity for the extensive media coverage of the national elections on May 13, as well as a series of activities that form part of an information campaign leading to the elections.

The activities include a forum on election-related issues, a police-media dialogue, and another forum on voters’ education that will run starting this month up to April. PLDT and Smart will also support the communications needs of the Elections Media Center where media and news sources will converge before, during and after the elections for a more efficient news coverage of the event.

Seated from left to right, are Marilu Chiongbian, Cebu-Citizen’s Involvement and Maturation in People’s Empowerment and Liberation (C-CIMPEL) executive director; Dr. Pureza Oñate, Cebu Citizens-Press Council president; Atty. Carmelo Diola, Dilaab Foundation, Inc. executive director, and Police Senior Inspector Sandley Sabang of the Regional Police Community Relations Division, Police Regional Office VII.
