As part of its commitment to support the pursuit of more effective governance, digital imaging leader Canon recently lent its full support to the Chief Information Officers Forum, Inc. (CIOF) during its first general membership conference meeting.
CIOF is a non-stock and non-profit organization composed of CIOs from different government departments and agencies is a partner of the Chief Information Officers Forum Foundation (CIOFF). Together they “serve as an advocacy and consensus-building group” to address key information technology (IT) policy issues and concerns; and to “provide the venue for technology solutions and information exchange among members” as well as with private organizations.
The First General Membership Conference-Meeting (GMM), held last March 22, 2013 at Discovery Suites in Pasig City, focused on the “Effective Document Management System (DMS) for eGovernance.” Senator Sergio Osmeña III delivered the keynote address. During the event, participants and panelists tackled the state of DMS in government as well as exchanged agency best practices during the open forum.

“The CIOF conference was an ideal venue for Canon to share our technology with industry and government leaders,” Jojo Bolima, Canon Business Imaging Solutions division head said. “Hopefully, we can be part of the movement towards the implementation of an integrated DMS program for government agencies which will ensure a more effective and organized archival of public documents.”
Clarito L. Magsino, CIOF’s immediate past president added, “This conference is historic because this is the first time that we have provided a venue to create awareness and discuss the strategic value of DMS especially as we move to eGovernance. This is a major initiative that will require a lot of support from the private sector and we are really grateful to Canon for doing its share.”
