Skil launches Paint the Town Red for grassroots communities nationwide

For the past six years, the Philippines has been one of the highest growing countries for Skil, one of the most recognized brands in the global power tool industry. Skil is giving back to the Philippine community through its recent philanthropic endeavor Paint the Town Red, which aims to construct 40 basketball half-courts in 40 selected barangays nationwide.

Bosch plans to establish a joint venture with Ningbo Polaris

Ningbo Polaris Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2003. The company specializes in developing, manufacturing, and selling of eScooter motors in China under the POLTM brand

The Bosch Group plans to form a joint venture with Ningbo Polaris Technology, a Chinese provider of motors for electrically driven scooters (eScooters), with Bosch holding the majority. The joint venture is to develop, manufacture, and sell a comprehensive product portfolio of eScooter motors. An agreement to this effect was signed on August 13, 2012. It has been agreed that details of the transaction, which is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities, will not be disclosed. Ningbo Polaris Technology specializes in developing, manufacturing, and selling of eScooter motors in China under the POLTM brand. In 2011, the company sold over one million eScooter motors and employed some 450 associates.

The global production output of the eScooter market in 2011 was about 27 million units. China was and will remain its dominant manufacturing location, with 98 percent of the production volume. “With a growth rate of six percent per annum the market will reach up to 46 million units in 2020”, said Udo Wolz, president of the Electrical Drives division.

Dupax residents move in to new homes, building process for 28 houses expedited by BOSCH tools

With modern methodologies and the latest building technologies offered by Bosch power tools, the construction process was simplified to provide homes for the residents of Dupax, Nueva Ecija

When Extreme Make-over Home Edition Philippines recently concluded their Season One finale, they forever changed the lives of the residents of Dupax, Nueva Ecija, as they turned over 28 newly constructed houses for their project titled, ‘Bagong Bahay, Bagong Buhay’. The houses were built using Bosch technology, a leading brand in power tools, which enabled the Extreme Makeover team to build 28 residential structures from the ground up in just a little over one month.

The traditional Ifugao family of Alice and Geronimo Malcino was among the families that benefited from the project. Prior to the completion of their new home, the Malcinos lived in a nipa hut with no running water and no electricity. Precariously bordered by cliffs, the Malcinos’ home lacked the necessary structural soundness to provide a safe and secure shelter for their growing family.

ECCP to host workshop for Fuel Efficiency in cooperation with Bosch and CAI-ASIA

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) has partnered with Robert Bosch, Inc. and Clean Air Asia to host a workshop on April 19 at the Dusit Thani Hotel that aims to equip participants with the right knowledge and tools to improve fuel savings and vehicle reliability. At the end of the session, participants will also acquire a deeper understanding on ensuring vehicle safety through proper preventive maintenance systems and clean fleet management toolkit.

During this one-day session, Mr. Frederick Velasquez (Service Manager of Automotive Aftermarket, Robert Bosch Inc.) and a fuel savings expert from Clean Air Asia will tackle the energy efficient automotive technologies that are currently available for public use. Participants will see improvements to fuel consumption as a result of the said technologies and learn about its importance to a fleet’s fuel efficiency. There will also be a presentation on the benefits of having vehicles serviced on a regular basis as a vital part of fleet maintenance and care. Trainees will be learning about the proper timing for vehicle services, importance of each service done to a car, and most importantly, discover how to identify eligible automotive service workshops.
