Leading non-life insurance firm goes Google with IP-Converge

With its heavy reliance on IT systems to run its daily business processes, MAPFRE Insular brings its IT savvy operations up a notch by going Google. The company recently signed up with IP-Converge, the country’s first and only publicly listed Internet data center and cloud services provider, for Google’s suite of web-based office applications known as Google Apps for Business.

As the largest Google Enterprise Partner in the Philippines, IP-Converge provides licenses and implementation services for various Google Enterprise products including Google Apps, Postini Services, and Google Maps and Search. The company received training, support and deployment services from Google, as well as access to application programming interfaces (APIs) for integrating Google Apps into customers’ business operations.

Magsaysay Transport and Logistics Corporation (MTLC), a subsidiary of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, recently signed an agreement with IP Converge Data Center, Inc. (IP-Converge) for its subscription to Customer Relationship Management (CRM), world-leading cloud-based CRM solution for the “social enterprise”.

IP-Converge says today’s business operations require tools that allow employees to collaborate and share information in real time – similar to popular social networking websites and applications. This way, business applications are easier to learn and are more engaging, giving companies a more dynamic and social business environment, which results in increased productivity in the workplace.

RIM Announces BlackBerry Management Center for Small Business

Research In Motion (RIM) announced BlackBerry® Management Center – a free online service for small businesses to centrally manage company- or employee-owned BlackBerry® smartphones in the cloud and protect business-related content stored on the handsets. The service is designed for businesses with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones that access email services from an Internet service provider (ISP) or web-based email services like Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo!.

“We are pleased to introduce RIM’s latest cloud service designed specifically for small businesses,” said Alan Panezic, Vice President, Enterprise Product Management at Research In Motion. “BlackBerry Management Center is a free service and an effective way to manage and support employees’ BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud.”
