Smart Money free remittance launched for OFWs in KSA

Filipinos based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can send remittances to the Philippines for free on Sunday, September 23, via Smart Money and its Middle East remittance partner, the National Commercial Bank (NCB).

The free service is being offered as part of National Day celebrations in Saudi Arabia. Smart Money and NCB also waived remittance charges last June 12 as an Independence Day gift to Filipinos.

Smart expands coverage of ‘HelLow’ IDD service

Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) announced the expansion of its ‘HelLow’ low-cost international direct dialing (IDD) service, to include four countries with the most number of Filipino contract workers.

HelLow is the country’s first reloadable IDD card which can be used on any Smart or Talk ‘N Text cellphone to make low-cost calls to top OFW destinations, via sachet-sized load denominations.

Lenovo Offers Free Computer Training To OFWs And Their Families

Beginning March, Lenovo will provide complimentary computer training lessons to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents or relatives to enhance their personal computer (PC) skills for increased career and business opportunities in a technology-savvy society.

The initiative is a result of Lenovo’s partnership with Microsoft Philippines, the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) and the Blas F. Ople Training Center and is aimed at leveraging technology to empower and enable greater career confidence.
