QC starts computerization of health care services with SHINE

Health clinics in Quezon City are now ready to use the Secured Health Information Network and Exchange (SHINE) of Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) to maximize access to health service resources and provide better care for tuberculosis (TB) patients.

In simple ceremonies held recently at Brgy. Doña Imelda, Kalayaan Health Center, Quezon City, local government officials, medical health officers and program partners kicked off the service launch for the project, pioneering the automation of Quezon City’s health system.

Haircut, other freebies at QC Brigada Eskwela

In a first of its kind, at least 65 boys and girls enrolled at a public elementary school in Quezon City got their free haircut and other items such as pencils and Chinese steamed buns (siopao) for snacks during the premier weekend launch of Brigada Eskwela on Saturday morning.

A diverse group of employee volunteers also rendered their part, with members representing the corporate transport and petroleum sectors, the call center or business process outsourcing (BPO) and television media industries, and even a university fraternity.
