Workshop on global SAP systems architecture held

Until recently expenditures on information technology (IT) came chiefly out of IT’s budget. That may change steadily but surely as technology plays a greater role in the conduct of businesses. Technology research organization Gartner has said that by 2015, “more than a third of enterprise IT expenditures will be managed outside the IT department as other units directly source and fund their own software systems.”

Besides the reallocation of the IT budget, yet another key related technology trend that is determining the future of IT, finance, and the entire company is the adoption of cloud services. As businesses transform into so-called digital enterprises in which, for example, employees progressively carry their own smart phones and tablets to the workplace to access business applications and corporate information, companies should be prepared to support multiple devices without compromising security.

SAP unveils mCommerce solutions

Mobile commerce (mCommerce) has become a global trend that’s catching on quickly across industries. In Asia alone there has been a rapid pace of adoption of mobile subscription by customers, particularly in Philippines. Mobile commerce services make it possible for people to perform everyday financial transactions from their mobile phone. People who previously had no access to financial services are able to save money, send money between family members, and pay merchants for goods and services with their mobile phone.

New User Interface and Native Integration of SAP CRM Boost Service Quality and Efficiency

When Bentley Systems Incorporated, a leading software provider for optimizing the infrastructure lifecycle, needed to upgrade its legacy customer relationship management (CRM) software, the firm considered all options. “We couldn’t support integrated processes across departments,” says Kiran Koons, SAP CRM manager at Bentley Systems. “We needed a solution that simplified integration with our existing systems, data sharing, and collaboration.” To meet these goals, the firm deployed the SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) application.

Innovation strategy winning with customers; continued hiring to drive SAP APJ’s growth

SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) announced its best ever performance in 40 years, with a 32% growth in Software Revenue at constant currencies (to €722 million) in the full year ended December 31, 2011.

“Last year was a banner year for SAP PH.  We reinforced our position with technological innovations that mean better productivity for our growing customer base.” said Jennifer Ligones, SAP Philippines country manager.  “Our increasing customer roster particularly in the SME segment underscores the importance of the segment to the overall performance.”

Steve Watts, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan, said: “2011 was our best ever performance in history, and Q4 2011 was also our 8th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth – this once again reinforced our role as SAP’s global growth engine. Across the region, our key markets of China, India and Japan led the pack with robust double-digit growth, while every market in the region performed well.
